Dive into the eerie and exciting world of ‘myHalloween,’ a web project crafted for the Frontend Challenge – Halloween Edition, CSS Art. This project was a thrilling journey into web development, inspired by the enchanting darkness of Halloween nights, the warm glow of pumpkins, and the mysterious sounds that fill the air.
My vision was to create a web page that perfectly blended spooky aesthetics with a touch of fun. This meant utilizing dark backgrounds to set the mood, vibrant orange highlights to mimic pumpkin glow, and integrating eerie music to complete the immersive experience.
The development journey itself was an adventure. Starting with a small idea from the Dev community’s Halloween challenge, I aimed to push my creativity. A key challenge was successfully integrating background audio that would play correctly across different browsers. Through dedicated research and experimentation, I managed to fix this using JavaScript, a crucial step that enhanced the spooky atmosphere.
This project also marked a significant learning curve in my web development journey. It was my first time extensively using GitHub to manage and upload project files, and I even successfully hosted the entire project using GitHub Pages. This experience was incredibly rewarding, solidifying my skills as a beginner web developer. And yes, the most amazing part? Much of this project was coded directly from my phone!
Explore the magic behind ‘myHalloween’ and see how simple ideas can transform into captivating web experiences.
